Bareboat Cruising Course

Among the many benefits of being a sailing instructor is seeing students reach their goals, whether it is purchasing their own sailboat or going on sailing adventures. Very frequently, we help sailors obtain their ASA Bareboat Cruising certification before they go chartering in exotic locations. Charter companies have different requirements to qualify for bareboat charter vacations. In the Caribbean, charter companies will often use your ASA logbook and sailing resume as evidence of your sailing experience.  In Europe, you will probably be asked for an International Certificate of Competence (ICC), or the US equivalent, an International Proficiency Certificate (IPC).  With an ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising Certification you can easily apply for an IPC to go cruising.

Recently we had a pleasure of sailing with George and Ernie, a dynamic father and son duo who took the 101, 103 and 104 course combo with Windward Sailing in Fernandina Beach. We had a great time during the course and the experience prepared them for a 10-day charter in the BVI. If the pictures they shared are anything to go by, they had a blast!

Come and talk to us about your sailing aspirations and how we can help you reach your goals!
